Belgium vs Kazakhstan: prediction & betting odds 7 September 2025

The Matchday 6 qualifier for the 2026 World Cup between Belgium and Kazakhstan will take place on September 7 at Lotto Park in Brussels. Belgium vs. Kazakhstan: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

Belgium

In the previous round, Rudy Garcia's side had no trouble in their away match against Liechtenstein, securing a 6-0 victory. As a result, Belgium extended their unbeaten run in World Cup qualifiers to 31 matches (25 wins, 6 draws). Additionally, the team has achieved a large-margin victory for the fourth time in their last nine qualification matches. In the group standings, Belgium has seven points and is in third place, with two games in hand over leaders Wales.

  • The team has won in regular time in their last seven home matches in World Cup qualification.
  • At least three goals have been scored in 90 minutes in Belgium's last seven home qualifiers.
  • Belgium has scored in the second half in 14 of their last 15 home World Cup qualifying matches.

Predicted lineup for Belgium (4-5-1)

Thibaut Courtois – Thomas Meunier, Arthur Theate, Zeno Debast, Maxime De Cuyper – Malik Fofana, Youri Tielemans, Kevin De Bruyne, Hans Vanaken, Jeremy Doku – Lois Openda.

Forward Romelu Lukaku is not called up due to injury.

Kazakhstan

Ali Aliyev's team failed to earn points at home against Wales in the previous round (0-1). This defeat marked Kazakhstan's sixth loss in their last seven World Cup qualifiers, with five of those defeats being scoreless. Moreover, the team has managed only one clean sheet in their last 16 European qualifiers. Kazakhstan has three points and sits in fourth place in the group standings.

  • The team has not won in regular time in 15 of their last 16 away World Cup qualifying matches (3 draws, 12 losses).
  • Kazakhstan has conceded at least two goals in 90 minutes in 9 of their last 12 away European qualifiers.
  • Kazakhstan has scored in regular time in 5 of their last 7 away World Cup qualifiers.

Predicted lineup for Kazakhstan (5-4-1)

Temirlan Anarbekov – Bagdat Kairov, Nuraly Alip, Alibek Kasym, Sergey Maly, Yan Vorogovsky – Dastan Satpaev, Damir Kasabulat, Ramazan Orazov, Galymzhan Kenzhebek – Maxim Samorodov.

The main goalkeeper Alexander Zarutskiy is not called up due to injury. Midfielder Bakhtiyar Zaynutdinov is also out due to injury, and defender Sergey Maly is suspended.

Belgium vs. Kazakhstan: Match Prediction

I anticipate a high number of goals in this match, primarily expecting offensive activity from Belgium, who frequently find the net at home. In their last seven home World Cup qualifiers, Belgium has never scored fewer than three goals, with some exceptionally high-scoring games, such as against Belarus (8-0) and Gibraltar (9-0). However, they haven't always been solid defensively, conceding four goals in their last two home European qualifiers.

Kazakhstan rarely performs at their best in away matches, but the team strives to focus on creativity. In their last seven away World Cup qualifiers, they have failed to score in only two matches, one of which was against France. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's defense has been lacking, conceding at least two goals in 9 of their last 12 away games.

My prediction: Total over 3

* The starting lineup for each team is based on their previous match in this tournament.

Betting tips 7 September 2025

After dropping points away to North Macedonia (1:1), Belgium need to pick up points against the underdogs to avoid complicating qualification. Kazakhstan are playing for pride as well as points, but the level has not been sufficient so far. For the visitors, this is the toughest away trip of the campaign, so a respectable showing is likely the ceiling.

Belgium opened their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying with an unconvincing display against North Macedonia, letting the result slip in the closing stages. They then showed character against Wales, snatching a late 4:3 win. Kevin De Bruyne remains the focal point in attack, but the absence of Romelu Lukaku is being felt, and the Belgians have to find new ways to finish chances. Against Liechtenstein (6:0), the squad turned to Loïs Openda, who offered little and was substituted. However, Maxim De Cuyper and Youri Tielemans took responsibility, delivering three goals and one assist between them.

Kazakhstan are rebuilding after a poor UEFA Nations League campaign. However, performances have been weak so far. The team lost twice to Wales (0:1, 1:3), fell to North Macedonia (0:1) and only just laboured past Liechtenstein (2:0). In one of the meetings with Wales, Kazakhstan created a string of chances but wasteful finishing let them down, and they hit the woodwork three times. In attack, Galymzhan Kenzhebek stands out, but the overall level of quality does not allow the squad to compete on equal terms with top opponents.

Belgium have greater depth, a more varied attacking structure and home advantage. The team should take all three points and win by at least two goals.
